LOCAL PERSPECTIVE
Cara Omiecinski - Hinsdale, IL
We chose Hinsdale because of the great schools, ability to walk to town and the access to the city. We were hesitant to move to the suburbs but realized quickly after settling in that Hinsdale is a great place to raise a family.
What are your three favorite things about the town?
- The schools. They not only are all amazing learning environments, they do an incredible job of creating a sense of community. Even at the preschool level we have found there is a real passion and care for our children.
-The people. Everyone we have met has been very kind and welcoming. We are active and like to get out and also try new things and there is always opportunities and friends to experience this with.
-The location. Everything is so close. We can get a birthday present, a car wash and a new outfit all within blocks of each other which saves us so much time. The access to the city is also great for when we need to get downtown for a date night or function.
What do you like to do with your significant other in your town?
My husband and I enjoy going on walks, playing golf, paddle, jogs in the nature preserve and going out to eat.
What are your thoughts about the schools in your town?
We love the school system. The PTO is very strong and provides amazing resources to the students. We also love how much space the schools have. The students plant gardens, have baseball fields, and large playgrounds to enjoy, along with art rooms, science labs and other great features!
What amenities, municipalities or parks and recreation activities do you appreciate the most?
Hinsdale has a great pool. We use the parks and recreation department for classes from legos to lacrosse and they are so close to our home. The post office, library, village hall are all centrally located as well.
